I am a special education teacher for 3rd-5th grades. It's tough trying to get older kids to read CVC words, as they often refer to them as 'baby' even if they have not mastered the skill. My students LOVE this game and come to small groups begging to play it. Thanks for making reading fun!
My son that is in first grade has been struggling with reading his CVCs and this game has made learning fun for him. He grabs this game a couple times a week and plays it.
I work with small groups of struggling readers and my first graders love this game. It makes reading CVC words fun. It is starting to get too easy for them though. I have started using it with kindergarteners who are just starting to sound out words. I like that the cards are color coded so they don't have to search through all the words to find the one that matches.
This is a great game for younger kids. I bought this a little too late, but it is definitely a confidence booster in helping him go over the letter sounds.
